WALK IN THE CLOUDS CHERRY DESSERT
Remember to chill evaporated milk well in advance otherwise it won't
whip until thick and creamy.
1 (6 oz.) package cherry Jell-O
2 cups hot water
2 (2 x 8 oz.) containers cherry yogurt
½ (1/2 of 14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
1 can (8 ¾ oz.) pitted cherries in heavy syrup, drained and chopped
roughly
1 can (12 fl oz) evaporated milk (NOT condensed milk), chilled in
refrigerator overnight
½ pint whipping cream
In a large mixing bowl, mix the Jell-O with boiling water and stir
until dissolved. Put in the freezer until thickened slightly, about 15
minutes.
Add yogurt, condensed milk and cherries and mix well. In separate
mixing bowls, whip evaporated milk and cream and fold into Jell-O mixture.
Pour into a 2-1/2 -quart round glass serving bowl. Cover with plastic wrap
and chill in refrigerator until firm. Top with whipped cream or Cool Whip
whipped topping if desired. (Serves 8-10)
VARIATIONS:
· Use pineapple Jell-O, yogurt and a small can of crushed, drained
pineapple.
· Use strawberry Jell-O, yogurt and a small can of drained
strawberries.
