 Oatmeal Cake

FOR CAKE
1 cup uncooked oatmeal
1 stick margarine or butter
1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg

FOR TOPPING:
6 tbsp butter or margarine, melted
1/3 cup evaporated milk
1 cup coconut
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup brown sugar

Cake: Mix oatmeal, butter and boiling water and let stand 20 minutes.
Add sugars and eggs. Beat well. Add all remaining cake ingredients. Beat well.
Spoon into greased and floured 9"x13" pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Topping: Prepare while cake is baking.

Combine all ingredients and mix well. Spread over hot cake as soon as
you remove it from the oven. Place under broiler for 1-2 minutes, until topping is
brown and bubbly. Cool and serve.
