Gazpacho LA Style
This is the Los
Angeles version of a very popular cold soup. Serve this with a
Mexican
style dinner.
1 (46 oz.) can tomato
juice
1 medium green pepper, minced (if you are feeling adventurous use a yellow or
red pepper)
1 small onion, minced
1 cucumber, peeled, seeded and minced (English hothouse style are best)
2 small, canned green chilies, minced
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. minced garlic
1 tbsp. olive oil
1 tbsp. chopped chives
2 drops hot pepper sauce
salt and white pepper to taste
lemon wedges
Combine tomato juice,
green pepper, onion, cucumber, chilies, Worcestershire sauce,
garlic, olive oil, chives, and hot pepper sauce. Season to taste with salt
and
white pepper Chill thoroughly. Serve with lemon wedges.
Makes 6-8 servings.
